Welcome to the Madrelingua School of English
TEACHERS' PAGES!

STOP PRESS.. The first of our 2009/10 sessions of teacher-training sessions will be held this month. We have organised an induction training programme for our staff, and two "open sessions", which will be free to any Bologna English teachers:
Tuesday 6th October from 14.00 to 16.00: “What is “excellence” in language teaching? The competitive context in which we work.”
Wednesday 7th October from 14.00 to 16.00 “Practical ideas for excellence in every teaching situation - understanding and adapting to your teaching contexts”
YOU are invited! These FREE sessions are open to all who wish to attend, not just staff at Madrelingua. If you would like to join us, please send us an e-mail in advance so we have an idea of numbers.

Being a teacher can be a lonely job. Of course, you are always working with people, but many teachers have little direct contact with colleagues and often there may by no support offered from academic management, let alone on-the-job training.

For many teachers the only way to develop professionally is to take the initiative and search out resources for themselves, so as to be able to try new ideas and so gain experience.

On these pages you will find training materials and classroom resources developed in-house, plus links to classroom resources, articles and other useful resources available elsewhere. Just follow the links on the left of this page.

There's also a teaching FAQ page: if you have a question, why not email it to us on info@madrelinguabologna.com? We'll do our best to reply to your email, and post your question and the answer on the FAQs page for everyone to read.

For teachers based in or near Bologna, Italy, we offer a free monthly training session, usually on a weekday morning when people are less likely to be working. Please come if you can! All teachers are welcome, wherever they work and whatever their level of experience, but please let us know in advance if you'd like to come so we have an idea of the numbers. For booking or further details please email: info@madrelinguabologna.com

The last session was called Lessons from learners - What teachers can learn from students and was held in April 2008.

View teacher-training resources available online!

Future topics will depend on the needs of our staff, and on any requests received, so if you have any ideas, for topics which you think would be useful, please let us know.

If you can't make it to one of our training sessions because you're working or because you're too far away, why not look at the session resources (follow the link on the left) or visit Daniel's teaching blog? You can leave a comment!

We are currently developing a site for learners of English. There will be quizzes and other things for students to do. Why not take a look? www.imparareinglese.co.uk
